City Finance Office: Appointment Policy and Citizen Conduct Expectations

September 09, 2025

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

Appointment Policy & Citizen Conduct Expectations

Due to repeated instances of disruptive behavior, meetings with the City of Bowdle Finance Office will now be by appointment only. Please call 605-285-6350 to arrange an appointment. This policy is effective immediately and will be in place for the next 30 days.

Additionally, the Bowdle City Council has adopted a Citizen Conduct Policy for all visitors to City Hall. The following guidelines are now in place to ensure a safe and respectful environment for both the public and city staff:

  1. All visitors are expected to conduct themselves respectfully toward staff and officials.
  2. Harassment, yelling, threats, or abusive language will not be tolerated.
  3. Concerns regarding staff performance must be submitted in writing to the Mayor and City Council.
  4. Staff have the right to end conversations immediately if behavior becomes hostile.
  5. Repeated or severe harassment may result in removal from City Hall and possible involvement of law enforcement.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain a professional and respectful environment for all.
